Description
The oldest parts of the villa were built in the middle of the 16th century by the noble Pannocchieschi d'Elci family. Despite the alterations and extensions that have occurred in the course of its history, the villa has retained the appearance of elegance and grandeur. As you go through to the courtyard and exit the second portico onto the garden, the typical Sienese countryside is spectacular. Although many rooms were decorated in the 18th and 19th centuries, many with frescoed ceilings, many retain the architecture of the Renaissance period in their architectural style. There is a unique harmony in the villa and adjacent buildings in their construction with stone, brick and travertine. The Italian gardens extend all along one side of the villa.
The estate extends over 900 hectares and is not far from the medieval city of Siena. One can see Radicondoli and even Volterra from certain parts of the property. The villa and outbuildings spread over 11.500 sqm and dominate their surroundings looking out over several of its farm houses (12), small olive grove of 6.600 sqm and orchard. There is the potential of creating 70 double bedrooms, and at least 80 bathrooms. The property is in need of restoration (particularly the outbuildings). It would be ideal for horses with 181 hectares of arable farmland and ample room for barns and boxes. There are 600 hectares of beautiful woodlands perfect for walks or hunting. 2 wells with a daily capacity of 180 mc complete the property. There are 3 outdoor swimming pools (and a project of adding a further 12 pools or 1 very big swimming pool)
