This stunning residence, located on the Ibleo plateau between Ragusa and the Donnafugata Castle, far from the chaos and inhabited centers, is an elegant and austere place that has kept intact all the features of the ancient summer estate.
Always belonging to the same family and dating back to 1778, it was commissioned by the Sortino Trono Baron, recalling the neo-baroque style typical of the noble properties of the south-eastern part of Sicily.

Hortus Conclusus is a fragrant garden characterized by numerous varieties of jasmine, bearded iris, peonies, ancient roses, pelargonies, lotus flowers and bougainvillea.
The 'wild gardens', characterized by the stable lawns (herbaceous formations that have never undergone tillage) host species such as the Hermodactylus tuberosus, the Erysimum bonannianum, the Neottia nidus-avis, Oprhys fusca and other species of wild orchids.
The farm produces oil obtained from the Tonda Iblea, Biancolilla and Moorish olive. In the olive groves, among the centuries-old trees there are some new plants with an average age of 10 years.
Part of the landscape are nearly a thousand centuries-old carob trees that produce carobs each year. The flour and honey obtained from these plants are precious for confectionery companies.
The rest of the land is kept on pasture and extensive crops rotating between wheat and hay.
Beaches, nature reserves, archaeological sites and UNESCO-protected sites surround the property, listed among the ADSI (Italian Historic Houses Association).
